[/font][/SIZE][/color]Medicine Cat Herbs are used for many different things. They are used for healing wounds, curing diseases, and alleviating pain. While there are many good plants; there are dangerous ones too! One's that can be harmful to cats. If you have a medicine cat and need to look up a herb from time to tome, this is the perfect place to do so. Medicine cat herbs range from berries, seeds, roots, plants, and bark and can be used in various doses to cure a cat. But giving to much to cats can kill them too.
This list is arranged in alphabetical order; and is arranged to be color coded as a healing herb, a medical herb, a pain reliever, or as a poison. There is also a list of cats not to give it to if it could be bad for them. Make sure that if you are a medicine cat you follow this as best as you possibly can!

ALDER BARK - For Tooth Pain.
BEECH LEAVES - Used to hold other herbs; has no value for medicine cats other than to serve as this purpose.
BLUEBERRY LEAVES - Chewed into pulp; used to reduce swelling from bee-stings.
BORAGE LEAVES - Given to queens to help produce milk and reduce fevers.
BURDOCK ROOT - Chewed to a pulp; used to lessen and cure the pain from the infection of rat bites.
BURNET - A traveling herb; used to keep up a cat's strength up. when they are traveling.
CATCHWEED - The burrs are placed where poultices are; used so that way the poultices would not pull off fur.
CATMINT - Given to cats with greencough, best known remedy. It is also used for whitecough.
CELANDINE - Juice that is trickled into the eyes to sooth damaged eyes.
CHAMOMILE - Used as a traveling herb; given to cats that are traveling for strength.
CHERVIL - Used on infected wounds, and given for belly ache. It is also used during the kitting process.
CHICKWEED - Used for Greencough but Catmint is the preferred method over all others.
COBWEBS - Used to soak up and stop (or at least slow) bleeding and can be used to bind broken bones.
COLTSFOOT - Eases breathing and soothes kitten cough. Often helps cracked or sore pads.
COMFREY ROOT - Repairs broken bones and soothes wounds. Also used for wrenched claws, inflamed joints, and to prevent itching.
DAISY LEAF - Used for joint pain and is also used as a travelling herb.
DANDELION - Soothes and heals bee-stings. Can also be chewed to be used as a painkiller.
DEATHBERRIES - Extremely poisonous.
DOCK - Soothes scratches, but stings when it is applied. Also helps to soothe sore pads.
FENNEL - Helps relieve pain in the hips.
FEVERFEW - Reduces body temperature for cats with fever or chills. Also helps to heal aches and pains in the body; but is especially good for headaches.
FOXGLOVE SEEDS Extremely poisonous.
GOLDENROD - Used for healing wounds.
HEATHER NECTAR - Makes swallowing easier and can be used to sweeten mixtures.
HOLLY BERRIES - Extremely poisonous.
HONEY - Soothes infections, helps with sore throats, and helps cats swallow.
HORESTAIL - Used to treat infections.
IVY LEAF - Used in ShadowClan to store other herbs; no other value.
JUNIPER BERRIES - Soothes belly aches, gives cat strength and helps troubled breathing. Also used to calm cats.
LAMB'S EAR - Used to give a cat strength.
LAVENDER - Used to cure fever and chills; also used to hide the scent of death.
MALLOW LEAVES - Soothes bellyaches.
MARIGOLD - Stops infection, stops bleeding, used to help inflammation of joints.
MINT - Used to hide the smell of death.
MOUSE BILE - Used to remove ticks. Must be washed away immediately.
NIGHTSHADE - Extremely poisonous.
OAK LEAVES - Stops infection from setting in.
PARSLEY - Stops queens from producing milk if their kits die, don't need milk, or produce too much. Also used for belly-aches.
POPPY SEEDS - Put's cat to sleep, soothes shock or distress, as well as eases pain. Not recommended for queens!
RAGWORT LEAVES - Helps aching joints and keeps up strength.
RAGWEED - Gives extra strength and energy.
RASPBERRY LEAVES - Eases pain and stops bleeding.
ROSEMARY - Hides the scent of death.
RUSH - Helps hold broken bones in place.
SNAKEROOT - Helps heal poison.
SORREL - Travelling herb. Helps to give cat's strength.
STINGING NETTLE - Induces vomiting, brings down swelling. When mixed with comfrey it helps to heal broken bones.
TANSY - Cures cough, used for wounds and poison, stops cats from getting greencough. Soothes throats.
TORMENTIL - Roots good for treating all wounds and extracts poison.
THYME - Calms nerves and helps anxiety and helps those in shock.
WATERMINT - Eases suffering from belly-ache.
WILD GARLIC - Prevents infections; especially from rat bites.
WILLOW BARK - Eases pain.
WINTERGREEN - Treats wounds and some poisons.
WATER HEMLOCK Extremely Poisonous.
YARROW - Extracts poison from wounds. Makes cat vomit up toxins. Ointment made from yarrow will help soften pads and heal cracks in them.
