MIDNIGHT
Name: Midnight
Gender: She-cat
Clan: Masquerade
Position: Apprentice
Appearance:Midnight's name really fits her nicely. She has thin, pitch black fur that is always nicely washed and very sleek. Trying to become a warrior, she figures that looking nice is a good step to feeling nice, and when your crabby you don't get anything done. But she also likes to keep her fur down and not be noticed, so usually keeps it washed. On her rounded head, you can see two electric blue circles popping out from her dark fur. Those are her twinkly eyes, the eccentric beauty of her unnoticed features, and the bane of her existence. Yes, she hates her eyes. She hates how they stand out in the moonlight. But when she was named Midnight, her mother thought that her eyes looked like stars shining in the sky, and her fur is the sky, and named her Midnight for her exact appearance. But, overall, her appearance is timid and dark.
Despite being beautiful -- which is what most desire -- Midnight despises her looks. She doesn't want to be noticed when her fur is tinted silver in the moonlight and her eyes shine like stars, she wants to be plain. But her life has never been fair, so why should it be when your favorite place is the shadows?
Personality:There's one word that sums up Midnight in all, shy. Shy, shy, shy. She's so incredibly shy. She sticks to the shadows and says that they can be her friends. Her life isn't fair, so why should she be spread around the group? She had always felt like an outcast because of being born in WindClan, always secluded. The other apprentices try to get her to play, but she refuses. She feels different from them, different from Masquerade. But she figured that anything is better than the abuse she received from her birth Clan. So she just hesitates to talk to anyone. Masquerade, however, has always been kind to her, and she is willing to fight for them.
Sometimes, Midnight will leave her shell and make a friend. But that would be rare. I think that a friend of hers would have to be extremely understanding and wouldn't underestimate her at any cost, someone she could fight with.
History:The leaf bare night was freezing cold. A mewl of pain sounded throughout the spacious nursery. It was the sound of a queen kitting a litter of three. Another WindClan queen heard it, and quickly awoke from her sleep. Icegrove was kitting. After a long kitting that lasted through the night, Icegrove gave birth to three kits. Nightkit, a different kit in WindClan, Moorkit, similar to the WindClan territorial color, and Heatherkit, a light gray/pink she-kit. Each was an average kit, except that Nightkit. She seemed different from the rest of the Clan. And that was exactly how she grew up, as an outcast. Always getting the last piece of fresh-kill, never playing with the other kits because of her strange appearance. It seemed that no one could see past her beautifully strange physical features. Then she escaped WindClan and lived on her own.
It was hard, living off of small scraps that she found, as she was only five moons old. Then she found Masquerade. They wearily welcomed her. One moon later, she became an apprentice. She trained with the other apprentices, obviously, but was always still an outcast, not really welcome. But she changed her name to Midnight, as it suit her well.
Her mentor was assigned to her because she was bold, someone that Morning hoped to shake the shyness off of Midnight. This is how she lives now, alone but not really alone.
